ILS Trainings- Correlates with what "Safety Wise" refers to as "meeting time trips, day trips or simple overnight trips."

This includes trips such as parks, police and fire stations, or libraries; cooking with stoves, microwaves, toaster ovens; overnights to lodges, motels and hotels, or slumber parties.  A meal will be provide at this training.

OLS Training - OLS - Outdoor Living Skills (OLS) is the next progression after Indoor Living Skills.  It will correlate with what "Safety Wise" refers to as "simple overnight trips and extended overnight trips".

This includes staying in a tents, covered wagons, tree houses, and campers; learning correct procedures for open fires and grills; learning correct procedures for lanterns; and expanding knowledge of knives, saws, compass, knots and ropes.

Along with OLS Skills, Outdoor Living Skills entails staying in a tent, covered wagon, tree house, or camper/motor home.  Participants will learn safe procedures for open fires and grills, lanterns, and other hazards.  Expand your knowledge of knives, saws, compasses, knots, and ropes.  People who have had ILS do not have to take that course with OLS during this training.

TAG - (Training for Advisors for Girls 11-17 year old) Topics covered include:  age-level characteristics, interests project patches, leadership and service opportunities, scholarships, travel opportunities., Studio 2B, Silver and Gold Awards.  
B.A.B.E.S -  this is a puppet presentation that you can be trained for and is open to any adult who has time during the school day.  This program is presented so "at risk students"  will understand the need for good self image and how to deal with issues.  There is no cost and is by request. By Request

 

 

Extended Tripping - This training is for troops who are planning longer trips, especially when multiple locations or types of transportation are involved. Trained adults can share the knowledge gained with girls as they plan.  The longer the trip, the sooner adults should take this training. By Request

 

American Heart 1st Aid/CPR Training - This training deals with treatment of life-threatening events involving children.  Gain the core knowledge, skills and confidence necessary to provide effective emergency care. Dates not established at this time due to pending information from presenters.
Flag Ceremony - Learn the proper was to do a flag ceremony from beginning to end, as well as how to "retire" or dispose of a flag.  Each participant will receive a flag. September 20, 2008

Songs - Learn the Girl Scout songs, including the ones from when you were a girl to the ones the girls know and sing now!  Each participant will receive a song packet to take back to their troops September 20, 2008

Day Camp Training - For leaders who are or will be involved in planning and/or participating in a Service Unit or County-wide day camp. Gain the knowledge, skills and confidence necessary to put on a successful day camp from budgeting to evaluation. November 1, 2008
