Girl Scouts of Central Indiana have recently contacted us and offered Cadette and Senior Girl Scouts the chance to participate in some of their summer opportunities! Contact information for each program is listed with each description.
Technology Advances Girl
Scouts II (T.A.G.S. II)

Description:
Join the staff at
Purdue University’s College of Technology in exploring various areas of the
exciting world of technology. You will have the opportunity to gain
knowledge and skills by experiencing hands-on college labs. Faculty will
lead the way as girls experience eight different departments including
aviation, building construction management, computer graphics, computer
information technology, industrial technology, electrical engineering,
technology, mechanical engineering technology, and organizational leadership
and supervision. Experience campus life as you stay in one of Purdue
University’s residence halls. Come join in a fun and educational week at
this Big Ten school!

Crazy Current
Canoeing

Description:
Spend a week
exploring the beautiful Current River, located in Southern Missouri. This
four day, three night camping trip will allow girls to explore one of our
country’s beautiful scenic waterways while also honing their canoeing
skills. We will be sleeping on the banks of the river in camp sites that we
build. Cooking over fires, sleeping in tents on the ground and paddling
through the days-the ultimate outdoorexploration!

Just Trippin’
Age level:

Scouts, grades 6-12
Description:
Just Trippin’ is a
series of day and overnight trips to destinations within a six-hour drive of
Indianapolis. The goal of this activity is to provide a safe and structured
opportunity for Girl Scouts, grades 6-12, to explore opportunities in the
Midwest. Trips encourage a sense of adventure and fun by incorporating
education and recreation into a one or two day event. To secure a spot on
these trips, please send a non-refundable deposit of $10 per person along
with a registration form to Girl Scouts of Central Indiana. Please make sure
that girls are accompanied by the appropriate number of adults, as specified
in Safety-Wise.

Summer Camp Opportunities
are still out there!
Don't forget that there are still great summer camp opportunities! Girls who attend camp say that they learn how to be their best and treat others with respect--all while experiencing fun and exciting opportunities and activities. We still have several awesome summer camps for girls to take part in, both at Woodhaven Program Center in Lima, OH, and at Camp Myeerah in Bellefontaine, OH!

Camping, July 25-27--minimum of 50, maximum of 200. $25 per girl and adult.
All ages.
This is how camping used to be before all of the fancy motor
homes and camper cabins took over! Participants will build a fire, cook
outside, and pitch tents. Don't worry--you'll also enjoy other outdoor
activities like canoeing, archery, swimming, and more.

Brownie Badge Camp, August 7-8--minimum of 12, maximum of 24. $75. Girl Scout Brownies will get a taste of camp with this fun one-night overnight! Girls will sleep in the covered wagons at Camp Myeerah and have fun while working on two badges. For girls entering grades 2-4. Camp leader: Kelda Heitkamp.

How to be
Fabulicious! August 11 and 12, August 13 and 14--minimum
of 12, maximum of 24. $75. For girls entering grades 5-8 (Aug. 13 and
14), and for girls entering grades 9-12 (Aug. 11 and 12).
Learn the
basics of being classy! From discovering one's own body and face shape
to choosing hairstyles and clothes, it's all about learning how to be
elegant. Let everyone see how fabulous you are!

CSI Woodhaven, August 4-5--minimum of 12 girls, maximum of 24. $50. For girls entering grades 6-12. Evaluate a crime scene, analyze the evidence, question the suspects, and develop your case. Do you have what it takes to solve the crime and convict the criminal? Camp leader: Julie Sturgill.
